About Max
Max Mather is a multidisciplinary digital media artist based in Denver, Colorado. Their artworks are narrative driven and often interactive, including digital animations, 3D web-based experiences, live visual projections, and 3D printed sculptures. At the core of their work is consideration of how human bodies - specifically gender queer bodies - are distorted by inaccuracies and biases encoded within digital systems. Mather has exhibited their work in galleries, museums, and theatres across the Denver Metro area including The Denver Art Museum, Meow Wolf’s Convergence Station, and the SIE Film Center. They are currently pursuing a MFA with the University of Denver’s Emergent Digital Practices Department. Mather designed the branding for the 2022 and 2023 editions of Denver Startup Week. In 2023, they led a multi-part workshop series on collecting and editing 3D body scans as a meditative process for the VYBE Music and Arts Festival.
