Max Mather is a multimedia artist critically engaging with digital tools to explore identity and personal mythology. Their artworks are narrative driven and often interactive, including digital animations, 3D web-based experiences, visual projections, and digitally fabricated sculpture. Their practice considers the duality of visibility and surveillance inherent to digital systems. At the core of Mather’s work is consideration of how human bodies - specifically gender queer bodies - are distorted by inaccuracies and biases encoded within digital systems.
